Two traditions, one kitchen
Brooklyn Pizza is a family-owned pizzeria in the Union Center, at 1014 Stuyvesant Avenue, a few seconds off Route 22. We are open seven days a week, we make everything to order, and we would rather you called us directly than paid a delivery app for the privilege.
The name says Brooklyn and we mean it. Hand-stretched round pies sold by the slice or whole, real mozzarella, sauce we make rather than pour, and square pies for anyone who wants the thicker, chewier version: the Sicilian on a thick crispy crust, the Grandma with fresh garlic and mozzarella, and La Nona Rosa finished in vodka sauce.
Behind that there is a full kitchen. Jersey wings in eight sauces from mild through atomic, hot subs built on the classics, pasta made properly including a fettuccine alfredo on fresh egg noodles and a homemade beef lasagna, burgers, wraps, panini, and an Italian hot dog with peppers, onions and potatoes on a hoagie roll. Everything is made in the shop, to order, when you ask for it. Nothing sits under a lamp waiting to be sold. That is the whole reason we would rather take the order ourselves than have it relayed through an app: the kitchen hears it from you, and you can say exactly how you want it.
You can eat in with us, call ahead and pick up, or have it delivered. Delivery inside Union is $1 with a $15 minimum, and we also deliver to Hillside, Springfield and Kenilworth, all under three miles from the door. There is a second entrance and parking at the back on Stowe Street, which is the easier way in when Stuyvesant is busy and the part most people never find out about.

Brazilian pizza in Union, NJ
Alongside the Brooklyn-style pies we make pizza the Brazilian way, and it is not one novelty pie hidden on the back page. It runs through the specialty section, the toppings list and the desserts.
If you grew up with this food you already know the signatures, and you know how rarely they turn up outside a Brazilian neighborhood: catupiry, the soft cream cheese; calabresa, the smoked sausage; hearts of palm; sweet corn on a pizza; egg on the Portuguese. We keep Guaraná in the fridge, by the can and the two liter.

The sweet pies
Romeo & Juliet is mozzarella and guava, the pairing every Brazilian kitchen knows as Romeu e Julieta. Banana comes with cinnamon, white chocolate and catupiry. Nutella is topped with strawberry. They are cut like any other pie and they are meant to be shared.

Where are you, and is there parking?
1014 Stuyvesant Avenue in the Union Center, seconds off Route 22. Parking and a second entrance are at the back on Stowe Street.
Do you deliver?
Yes. Inside Union it is $1 with a $15 minimum. We also deliver to Hillside, Springfield and Kenilworth, all under three miles from the door.
Can I eat in?
Yes. Dine in, pick up or delivery, seven days a week, until 10pm. There are high chairs and vegetarian options.
What is catupiry?
A soft Brazilian cream cheese. It goes on the Chicken Catupiry and the Chef, is folded into our 5 Cheese, and turns up again on the Banana dessert pizza. If you have not had it before, the Chicken Catupiry is the one to start with.
What is the best way to order?
